The Gutenberg prinitng press had a major impact on the 15th and 16th century society. Before the invention of the printing press not many people could read and for the most part were illiterate with the exception of a few people who went to elite schools. However the Internet did not have such a big impact as the printing press. People could read and write before the WWW was created. Both had a major effect on our society. The printing press was the source of everything that we understand and have today. The world would be completely different without these to great inventions
